I really think this is a good question. And putting aside the fact that she has lied about her race, her situation has shone the light on lots of ideas:
The desire to revel in schadenfreude and destroy relatively private people (there have been so many examples of this in the last few years) and how this impacts on society.
The arguments made by people who are genuinely horrified at the idea that appropriating black culture to gain advantage might be 'A Thing'.
Ideas about relative privilege and whether using such terms is actually useful.
Ideas about identity politics and the comparisons between genuinely and honestly identifying as a different gender or race and what this means.
Trying to understand social versus biological constructs of race and gender and how such ideas are used on both sides of the fence.
Anyways, I've been reading lots of these arguments and I haven't got any idea where I stand, but it's good to challenge the assumptions you make about the world.
