NFL Hall Of Famer Claims Tom Brady Is A Cheater And ‘All His Super Bowls Are Tainted’
During an interview with Clark Judge of the Talk of Fame Network, five-time Super Bowl winner Charles Haley, who was recently elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame, slammed New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady. When asked to compare Brady with another QB who won four rings, San Francisco great Joe Montana, Haley immediately said Montana was the better player. (Haley won two Super Bowls with Montana.) The former 49er and Cowboy further stated that all of Brady’s Super Bowl wins “are tainted,” referring to DeflateGate and SpyGate.
Haley did not mince words with Judge at all as he took shots at Brady the entire time. First, he essentially called the Patriot QB a cheater.
That was just the start of it. After calling Brady dishonest and and questioning his integrity, Haley ripped the quarterback’s ability, saying that all he did was chuck short passes to wide receiver Julian Edelman during the Patriots Super Bowl victory against the Seattle Seahawks.“Joe didn’t have to cheat. I’ve lost all respect (for Brady). When your integrity is challenged in the game of football, to me, all his Super Bowls are tainted. You have to say this just didn’t happen overnight. Who wants that shadow over them? I could be wrong. But I realize there were 12 balls deflated and 12 ain’t. Then you’ve got (Patriots coach Bill) Belichick coming on three different times trying to explain it… You know something is wrong.”
“No. How he’s redeemed himself? What’d he throw? Every time he tried to throw deep it didn’t work or he threw it in the ground. All those Wes Welk — not Wes Welker, but the other guy [Julian Edelman]. All those 5-yard passes or whatever he threw.”
Finally, the ex-defensive lineman reiterated that Brady’s rings are tainted.“This is what Charles Haley believes — it’s going to come back to haunt him one day,” Haley said. “If the league doesn’t come down on this guy… Everybody is talking about it. Nobody believes it was by accident. It is what it is.”
Whether you agree or disagree with Haley’s comments, you can at least give him credit for speaking his mind and not beating around the bush. He obviously think Joe Montana is the superior quarterback and Brady is a cheater. End of story.“I’m not going to take any of his Super Bowl rings away from him. But it’s sad that it has to be tainted like it is right now. Hopefully they’ll come out and let us know what really happened. Then all the mystery is gone.”
