Yeah, this is like white privilege all the way.

It baffles my mind as well, since I've seen through my own life experiences similar situation with meth and crack that had completely different outcomes. One person put on ice, and the other was escorted, and awarded rehab.


The unfortunate thing about this. The majorities perspective won't change until its their sons that are hastily put on ice within a situation that other tools could have been used. I equate this ideology to the rampant change in the weed laws. When minorities were only being incarcerated for minor non violent possession of marijuana. Oh crap, they are animals. We need to lock them up within the prison
industrial complex that many politicians and big corporations profit from. When white boys with similar charges were getting sent up state, and having their futures destroyed. It became a problem, and the push to adjust the laws followed suit.

All, and all acknowledgement is always the firs step. The adjustment of laws would be a good second step, and parents educating themselves and kids the next.
