Not as far as I know.

Okay. Beat your game's 50th tower. Gotta say, your final boss is a paperweight, almost as bad -- if not worse -- in being far too easy than your "mighty" dragon at the end of DoE. Gold flag in 1 try, and yet some of the early game bosses still give me trouble with gold flagging. Maybe you shouldn't be able to buffer a boss's attack while it's going; that seemed intended to screw with the interface a lot, but you can just pause the game and wait for it to stop.
...then again, I WAS playing on Normal...
So, now that that's out of the way, time to grind to capped city through the Infinity Tower. Surprisingly, only one of my buildings reached level 5 (the Town Hall) after all that. I figured it'd be more considering the grinding I did earlier in the game when levels were next to impossible from bugs.
Edit: So I've been trying to go back and gold flag old levels, and I seem to have significant problems in dealing with Death. (The boss with the scythe attack.) It seems my blockades do nothing to stop his scythe from attacking me, and the battlefield makes it very difficult to attack him back. Is it intended for the scythe to go through your blockades, and if so, maybe there should be a bit more feedback that this is the case? Otherwise, I guess I'm going to have to be highly dependent on miracle corner match 5s and my high priests. I've drawn dead on this board a couple times, too. No matches no matter how hard I look.

Funny you should mention that.
I was just thinking we should have some kind of "HELP" option on the menu that would pull up a screen with:
- A link to this forum.
- A link to our wiki.
- The ability to pull up those tutorial screens by category (City, Conquest, Battle, Bestiary)
Capitalization is the difference between "I had to help my Uncle Jack off a horse." and "I had to help my uncle jack off a horse."

That is good to know. I think it will be a lot easier to scale up boss difficulty in this game than it was in DoE.
And we definitely want to make sure the final boss is epic.
Bizarre Bones: his scythe attack was specifically designed to not be stoppable with blockades. So your feedback here is you'd like there to be some type of defense? Maybe attack dummies, or at least slowing down the frequency of his attacks with grease or nets?

There doesn't necessarily need to be some type of defense (although given the board layout we're up against, as well as the fact that he himself effectively has blockades, that would be nice to have), but it felt initially that I wasn't sure if it was supposed to do that or not; after all, you can stop the Elemental Lord's bullets with Multipliers (which causes a really nasty audio and visual bug where that bright light doesn't go away and it kills the sounds while it's still out, though I haven't tested to see if that got fixed yet in this build), but if you place them wrong, his shots can go through them, so I wasn't sure if I was just placing them in the wrong spot or not. That little bit of extra feedback, maybe some audio cue, would be nice to know it's not my error, but an intended effect of the attack.
I am glad to hear about the quest reward change. Is it in the current build? I have played several rounds and I don't think I have ever gotten any lumber even though I have done several quests. The screen capture you showed with the +3 ore for completing a quest - will it show the +3 ore before you do the quest or after you complete it? I frequently don't have time to look up at the quest right when I complete it.

I also beat level 50 on normal on my first attempt with a gold flag. The boss should have more health at the very least. Perhaps the ability to lock a block of tiles or something (there's already an "attack" that lends itself to that). And/or more minions. You can see my city's profile information here: http://www.scrobot.com/images/reignmaker_spikebum_0.png
Level 4: Academy
Level 3: Foundry, Lumber, Farm, Town Hall
Level 2: Granary
Level 1: Armory, Blacksmith
I didn't use any gear except for a quest or two.
The variable direction "falling" mechanic was one of the few interesting things about Puzzle Quest: Galactrix. I'm not sure if it could be included here, but it's a good idea. Perhaps this could be added as a boss ability?
Also, I think the empowered and frozen overlays are a little too obstructing in their current forms. It's hard for me to tell what rune type is frozen (though I suppose that could be completely intentional), I'd suggest dialing up the transparency a tad.
