    WW1

A call to writers. This weekend, I will be hosting: Writer's Weekend I!
If you're online in Thresh, there will be an event channel. The goal of
weekend is to write a short story. It doesn't have to be fantastic or
perfect, or anything. It goes like this:

I will use an online plot generator for each person, the link is here:

    http://words.bighugelabs.com/plot.php

The plot generator spits out 5 plots, you pick one and write a short
story surrounding that plot. They don't have to be long short stories,
as short stories go, they can be somewhat short.

The event lasts the whole weekend. I will be handing out plot chunks
on Friday night. Bring your coffee, your beers, your inspiration, your
muses, your troll dolls with brightly coloured hair, whatever.

Sunday night is the night you need to have finished your short story.
The dead line is 10pm server time (Eastern).

The principal goals so this exercise are simple:
    1) Camaraderie between fellow writers of Threshold
    2) A short story! it'll be awful, it'll induce terrible,
terrible waves of nausea upon the reader, and yourself,
the grammar will be horrible, the subject completely random
    BUT IT WILL BE GLORIOUS!!!!

    Requirements:
    1) Mudmail (ww) in Threshold to announce your participation.
    2) Participants will be required to complete a short story
    by Sunday at 10pm.

    Anti-requirements:
    1) You don't even have to be a "writer". You may just want to
have some fun! You're welcome to participate, too!
    2) If you have time to edit your story, go ahead, but it's
totally not a requirement. We're just looking for brain
    dumps, and some interesting writing.

We're looking at a minimum of 1000 words, with a 2000 word goal.

    Let's get it on!
I wanna love you but I better not touch
I wanna hold you but my senses tell me to stop
I wanna kiss you but I want it too much
I wanna taste you but your lips are venomous poison

First full day of WWI is underway! How's your short story going? I'm 3/4 done my first draft.

All right! WW1 is over! Out of 17 people who signed up, I received a whopping 10 submissions.
If you didn't complete yours, you still still give yourself a pat on the back for signing up and getting something written at all.
It was a tall order, getting very little notice about the event at all, then having to pick from random plot lines many of which would be completely uninteresting, and then having to write it over a weekend!

Kudos to everybody who sign up and also to those who submitted their short stories.
I will be posting the results over the next couple of days for people to read.
I'm going to mail the participants individually requesting permission to associate their character name with their short story for posting.

Ultimately, I would also like to publish it as an ebook so that all submitters can have a copy of their very own in .mobi, .pub and/or .pdf.
For this, I will also be sending each submitter a mud mail requesting permission to associate their real name with the story.

For either of the above, you should not feel compelled to say yes. If you don't want it published on the forums, freely say no.
For the eBook, if you don't want your real name, you can simply provide a nom de plume.

    Grats guys! Well done!

    Awesome!

I can't wait to read them all.
Capitalization is the difference between "I had to help my Uncle Jack off a horse." and "I had to help my uncle jack off a horse."

There is never a good time for lazy writing!

It was an awesome event, thank you for hosting it, Gesslar! I had a whole lot of fun and can't wait for WWII!

I personally don't mind either name association, but are we permitted to edit some more before publishing on the eBook? Mine could still use some work.
