The idea behind the 53% is responding to the 99%. The 53% are claiming to be the ones who have experienced all of the same things as the 99%, however instead of wallowing in self pity and crying out for a socialist program to forgive them of their poor career planning mistakes and piles of student loan debt for some foolishly anticipated career in some dream job, they beat feet and got jobs, support themselves and manage to pay enough taxes to support all the socialist programs the united states has implemented for the other 47%. The 53% are those that are playing with the hand they've been delt from the same deck as the 99%.
