The breeding comment was off the cuff and not to be taking literally or terribly seriously. I still question the mother's parenting abilities regardless. The fact that the mother smirked at the sex question seems to suggest a lack of empathy or just plain ignorance, or at worse indifference for her raped daughter's current mental state.
This type of radio segment serves to expose people's vulnerabilities for entertainment. Why anyone would expose themselves to this type of treatment is truly beyond me; but the phenomenon is unlikely to go away, when huge prizes and money are at stake.
There's plenty of blame to go around on this one, with most of it pointed at the mother. I hope the radio station rethinks their format given the latest outcome.
As you mentioned, the show's ratings will likely go up. People like to see, or in this case hear this kind of trash....kinda like people going to see a fight at a coliseum 1000 years ago.
