Just because some of you don't agree that he should think that Homosexuality is a sin doesn't change the fact that Christianity considers it to be, based on the words in the holy texts of both Christianity and Judaism. Saying that he should just accept the fact that he is gay is the same as saying that he should no longer be a Christian, and as much as many of you would love for him to make both of those decisions-- it's incredibly un-American.
Actually, CHRISTIANITY doesn't consider it to be, even though Haggard's sect certainly does. Accepting that he is gay is not the same as saying he should no longer be a Christian. There are many gay christians. There are many churches that are welcoming and affirming to gay Christians. Just because conservative evangelicals go about pretending to represent the totality of Christian thought on every social issue doesn't make it true.
