Hilarious.
BC threatens coach over Jets interview
In the comments, a lot of fans spew on and on about how this shows poor "loyalty" from the coach.Boston College coach Jeff Jagodzinski has been told he will be fired if he interviews for the head coaching vacancy with the New York Jets, which is scheduled for Monday, according to sources.
Despite the threat from athletic director Gene DeFilippo, Jagodzinski plans to do the interview with the Jets, the sources said. Those sources said that in the event Jagodzinski is fired, BC would promote offensive coordinator Steve Logan to head coach.
Loyalty?
How much loyalty did BC show to the Big East (which promoted the heck out of BC) when they jumped ship to help the ACC grow to 12 teams?
How much loyalty do schools show to coaches when they send them packing even when they are doing well? Tommy Tuberville, Phil Fulmer, etc.
Jagodzinski should definitely interview. Even if he doesn't get the Jets job, he can laugh all the way to the bank when BC fires him and still has to pay him for the next 2 years.
And BC: Good luck hiring a quality coach when you pull this little maneuver. ROFL.
