I don't think Gromgor's using that as an accurate depiction, more the sort of role model that black Americans are given. God knows, the youth of our own indigenous population here in Australia relate readily enough to the 'gangsta nigga' image
every black American does not aspire to be a Young Jeezy, Lil Wayne or a T.I. You deserve to be lumped with Gromgor for assuming this. Please go back to my earlier statement about accurate representation. Every Asian isn't a member of the Yakuza, not every Hispanic in America is an illegal immigrant; every white person isn't a closet member of the KKK, and best believe that the majority of black Americans do not subscribe to that label you spoke of.
The fact that you even had the nerve to even use THAT term in such away says volumes about you and your own perception, hatred of yourself and the world around you.
Duh, This is capitalism at its finest. The image is a marketing product that sells! middle and lower class whites comprise the biggest sales demographics for hip-hop.Originally posted by Maelgrim

It seems to me that black kids get a double barrel of this, as they seemingly identify with these individuals,
Really Maelgrim how many black kids do you know? When was the last time you went with a good friend to their old neighborhood. You really don't know the contributing circumstance that black kids, or any kid of any race who has grown up in less than idea circumstances in life are facing. The fact that Gromgor and yourself seem to think that it's a race thing. Definitely display your true grasp on whats really going on, while showcasing a huge lack of diversity.
If you look at a poor black family, a poor white family, a poor hispanic family, a poor asian, and a poor arab family. There are common denominators that contribute to their situation. And trust me your LABEL that you gave it. AIN'T even 20% of the PROBLEM.

Whilst I wasn't terribly confident about Obama's policies, overall I am glad that he was elected president. He is most definitely a person for black youth to aspire to.
We inform Maelgrim that Obama isn't the first black person that youth of the black race or any other American race could aspire to be. Our communities are filled with them. Ranging from Preachers, Police officers, Mechanics, Garbage men/women, Teachers, elected officials, Doctors and businessmen.
A role model can be anyone of any race and gender.
Please don't allow the small majority to convince you this is an accurate representation. The world is a big place.

To bastardize the song Gromgor was referring to earlier, "Run fo office, run fo office, fuck bein' street!"
This doesn't even deserve a comment.
