Fascinating. This is definitely off the original topic, but... I would _love_ to do some code profiling. Seems maybe your base socket services APIs might be really inefficient, if the Mac OS port of FileZilla is so woeful compared to the Windows port of the exact same program. There must be something fundamentally broken about the socket libraries or something. Weird.
