    SW Ohio got mauled

Not sure how much anyone has heard, but SW Ohio and a bit of Northern KY got completely mauled by strong winds Sunday afternoon. The entire area was completely blacked out and hundreds of thousands of people have been without power for days. Honestly I'm shocked there hasn't been more looting and rioting than there has been but everything has gone surprisingly smoothly save for the fact that my power still isn't back on and since I have well water, I have no water either.

They are saying that the majority of folks should have their power back on by today sometime so if any folks you know of that have disappeared from Thresh that are from this part of Ohio (Columbus all the way to KY) that's probably where they are. I only just now managed to get to a computer and I have no idea if Ismenia has power yet either, although a lot of her area does have it, so hopefully us SW Ohioans will be back in game today or soon.

Holy crap. I hope everyone is okay for the most part! Strange weather reached all the way up north where I am, so I can imagine how severe it was in that area. Good luck to you all.

Thousands of trees got destroyed, knocked down loads of power lines, and as far as I know four people have died. Two bikers got hit by a falling branch and a tree fell on one woman's house and killed her.

Reminds me of tornado damage, it was horrendous.

Lucky me was at an outdoor concert when it began, we got trapped in our car for an hour waiting to get out of the parking lot after they canceled the rest of the concert because people couldn't drive in it.

Good times... Not really. Yeah, that's where I've been. My power went out at 3:30pm on Sunday and did not come back until sometime Wednesday while I was at work. The winds were so strong we officially had a dry category 1 hurricane in Ohio haha. Craziness! I spent most of it sitting on my balcony with the dog watching the shingles blow off the apartment roofs. I wish I would have took videos or something. My power was out for so long because 5 of the power poles close to my complex literally split in half and lines were laying all over with trees all tangled up in them too. But all is good, and they fixed the roofs today too.

Yeah, NE Ohio got smoked too. We still have areas without power around Cleveland.

I got my power back on yesterday, thank god. They say that this area should be 100% by tomorrow, but there's no telling. I feel bad for the folks working with the electric company, poor guys have been working 16 hours a day. Kudoes to them for busting ass.

Hope you're all doing alright up there.

I am alive and well. Actually I posted in the "I will be gone" thread about the wind storm. My power was out for 5 days. Our area is still struggling to recover though. Truck after truck goes up to the park at the end of my street where they are mulching all of the downed limbs. It was just crazy. I lost all the food in the fridge and some strips of siding, but as long as my family stayed safe that is all I care about.

Actually the day of the storm, we had a party at my neighbors. The kids tied towels around their necks, so they flapped behind them like superheros. (Our specific lots are of pretty new houses so we don't have big tree limbs that can hit superhero kids).

And yet it continues haha.... I was on my way to work yesterday morning and my boss calls and says don't come in. Not completely sure what happened but I think when they were fixing the power somewhere near work they messed up the power at work and now that won't be back on until Monday night around midnight. Jeez.

We lost half our roof, the privacy fence in my back yard was damaged, lost siding and down spouting in the high winds.
