I'll have to look it up, but there was something I read recently about batteries on paper. There's some stuff here:

Maybe those paper batteries won't work, but it is an example of something I said a while back on these forums. All of these problems related to the environment, energy, etc. are ultimately going to have to be solved through technology. They are never going to be solved through sacrifice, carbon credits, or any other BS like that.

Every time Person A cuts back his use, Person B will just increase his to make up for it. Until we solve it with technology, it won't get any better.

Heh... You search for "cool" to find the post. That's like me trying to find the code in RosMud for calculating line height and other font metrics, by searching for "Elsa". It worked, too.

    This looks exciting:
Columbus (OH) - Researchers at Ohio State University have accidentally discovered a new solar cell material capable of absorbing all of the sun's visible light energy.
And if the research team's current efforts (of using only a few molecules of the hybrid materials suspended in a liquid solution) can be extended into practical real-world scales, then products yielding nearly 100% solar efficiency may soon be achievable.
The materials these researchers have created is not ready for prime time. Only a few molecules were created...
