    Organized Cheating and Affairs?

I heard about this on the radio, and it totally boggled me. At first I thought it was a gag, but then I went to the site and it looked real.

    http://www.ashleymadison.com/

It's a site dedicated to helping people cheat on their spouses with other people who want to cheat on their spouses. Is it just me, or is that really messed up?

Wow. Yeah. How long before we start hearing about married couples who both want to cheat, and end up meeting each other through this site?

Actually, that sounds like the premise of a bad movie. One of the movies where some sequence of morally bankrupt behavior ends in a kissing scene, thereby rendering the whole thing sweet and romantic. I'm getting teary-eyed already.

I think it's a gimmick to get estranged wives and husbands to buy memberships to see if their other half is on there. the potential for people to cheat on their partners and be upfront about it has existed ever since some bright spark put in a 'staus - married/single/other' and 'friends/romance/player' options.

Nothing new here but the veneer.

    Hahahaha. That sounds really funny.

I believe the site is real and not just for catching a cheating spouse. I saw an episode of Dr. Phil where they talked about it (and even had the founder on, I think), and I've heard it mentioned many places in the last few years.

I heard about this because Howard Stern advertises it on his channel. I couldn't believe my ears. I thought, "Wow, I am an old prude, because I am disgusted that they advertise and promote infidelity."

Call me crazy, but I would rather have my husband go the "David Duchovny" route.

I guess I'm not understanding the whole cheating thing either. Is it the secrecy/thrill that people are attracted to or is there a genuine desire to tag some strange ass after several years of boredom?

It's not like these people are out drinking and leaving themselves open to bad judgement...they are seeking out a connection for the purpose of cheating. Amazing what people do.

I would be pissed if my husband cheated on me and didn't even give me the courtesy of an invite.

    It happened already.
Sure, I got a secret. More 'n one. Don't seem likely I tell 'em to you now, do it? Anyone off Titan colony knows better than to talk to strangers. You're talkin' loud enough for the both of us, though, ain't ya? I've met a dozen like you. Skipped off-home early. Minor graft jobs here and there. Spent some time in the lockdown, but less than you claim. And you're, what, a petty thief with delusions standing? Sad little king of a sad little hill.

Ha, ouch! I kind of figured that this sort of thing would have happened already, just not yet with this site. Silly cheaters, I guess the best payback is to have your spouse doing the same thing.

Strangely, this would make me think that they probably should figure out a way to work things out.

It would seem that when they are being themselves, and not acting out of years of build up "payback", they really enjoy each other.
