Maybe you look for something different in your entertainment to what I do, upon which I'm sure we can agree.

    Sporting events: entertainment
Opening shows for sporting events: entertainment

Was I entertained? That's the question I ask. Was it fraudulent? That's somewhat irrelevant. Is it unreasonable to just expect to be entertained on the face value of what was provided? I really don't think so. You seem to find veracity to be an attribute of your entertainment (or at least when they -tell- you they're being 'truthful'), so sure to you the fraudulence of the event may have undermined the original entertainment value you received, but that's just not an important qualifier to me in terms of what I get out of the entertainment.

IMO this is a similar problem exhibited by those who are not able to watch a movie based on a book, or a game, or a TV show without comparing it in a dismal light if it is not as good as, or not the same as the original, or original intent.

Perhaps my attitude that entertainment is ALWAYS fraudulent and that it will NEVER be as good or the same as the book was born of a jaded cynicism on my part, but I'll tell you: enjoying something based on the face value on what is presented alone leads to a more fulfilling enjoyment of the event/spectacle/whatever.
I wanna love you but I better not touch
I wanna hold you but my senses tell me to stop
I wanna kiss you but I want it too much
I wanna taste you but your lips are venomous poison

Also, I really really like Milli Vanilli. I love the songs, I love the videos, I bop to them quite frequently in my playlists and I don't really care that the "packaging" was not what it seemed. As far as I am concerned, Rob and Fab were marketing for the product: the music.

Now the original singers disagree, but that's their problem. I have my own to worry about. I don't need to be their champion.

That isn't what happened. They picked one girl, then later decided they didn't like her looks, and dreamed up this fraud.

This isn't like an audition where you pick *THE* person who gets the job. You don't get to pick two different people and then create a dishonest amalgamation of them. For me, you gotta make ONE decision. You pick ONE person. You don't take two people, and then lie to everyone and pretend its one through pre-recording and lip syncing. You also don't pretend a performance is live when it isn't.

Its like 2 people running the marathon, each running 13 miles of it. Sorry, that doesn't cut it.
Capitalization is the difference between "I had to help my Uncle Jack off a horse." and "I had to help my uncle jack off a horse."

There is never a good time for lazy writing!

We may just be talking past each other and/or I'm just failing to get my thought on the whole situation expressed clearly.

I'm honestly not sure what I can say from here that would make any kind of difference to how either one of us feels about the issue.

So I guess this is me saying "Uncle".

Yeah it is, so I guess thats why I flared up. But I'm a lot older than her, and it still hurts me, so I guess all I can think about is how that kid is feeling
You say, "So if we have a gay kestrel, does that make him a wood pecker?"
