They perpetrated a fraud.

I could care less what their selection criterion are for choosing who would sing. Pick whoever has the best combination of singing/looks and go with that girl. Don't pick one girl, tell her she going to be the one, then later decide to just pre-record her voice, slap it onto a cuter chick, and tell the world "look at this girl sing live, and she's also so cute!" They lied about it being a live performance. They lied that it was the girl on screen singing.

At least when someone loses out at an audition they don't know for sure why. They aren't told "you had the best voice, but you're just too ugly."

Pae: Of course there are worse things going on in China. But in this thread this is the issue. Otherwise, the only topic we could ever discuss is whatever is *the* most important and horrible thing going on. You would only need one forum and one thread for that one issue.

And Katidyd: I don't watch American Idol, largely because the negativity of it was out of control.
