Good God. I guess they've exhausted all of the other niches like puking and crapping, lol. What was most interesting to me:

That is really, really bad. Intimacy is also about being close to your partner, so that to me shows a somewhat dysfunctional society. I think their suicide rate is further proof that something is not as it should be in Japan.

Whenever something like this comes up I'm reminded of an article I read in Maxim or one of those type of magazines years and years ago that comically compared American society to Japanese. One of the comparisons was the American "surprise stripper" a la bachelor parties or what-have-you versus the Japanese practice of eating sushi off a naked woman in a restaurant.

I believe the article went something to the tune of "One is a mildly embarassing surprise for a special occasion that you can laugh about with your buddies afterwards, and the other is a symptom of countless decades of sexual repression and dysfunction". Never fails to pop back into my head every time I hear about something like this.

It's interesting to me that getting a stripper for a special occasion is largely accepted by society as a bit of a lark. At what point do you believe that such objectification of woman (or men) actually has a negative impact on the women (and men, and their relationships) in our society.

I don't want to be too strong here, but I am convinced that western society has extremely unhealthy attitudes towards sexuality, sex and gender, and that the pervasiveness of objectification, from such little things as enhancing a pout in a billboard, to entertainment such as encouraging otherwise "respectable" women - athletes or med students, to spread for playboy, or bare their tits for 'girls gone wild' helps to give it legitimacy and popular acceptance.

People...I am half Japanese and half of the caucasion race and I lived 9 years of my life in my mother's homeland, Japan. The only thing about porn in Japan that I can assure of is that they have the fuzz monster on the pubic areas. That's because they find body hair to be offensive.

And the comment about strippers I don't agree with. I happen to enjoy frequenting strip clubs with my husband and I am the one objectifying the women. But you know what? The strippers LOVE it. Women tip better. And your man will go home horny and wanting to do all sorts of things. What's wrong with that?
