And the next U.S. President will be...

Edwards is dropping out and so is Giuliani. McCain will likely beat out Romney. Hillary and Obama are left for the other side. So we are left with 3 likely candidates: McCain, Hillary and Obama.

So who's gonna be the next world leader? If Obama gets the democratic nod I think McCain will take it easily. Hillary, I'm not so sure.

I agree. I'd be surprised if America elected Obama. My guess is his lesser experience level in politics would be used against him.
At the same time, McCain will need to demonstrate that his Republican party would set itself apart from the party of the last 8 years in order to be successful.

McCain is barely even considered Republican. I don't think he'll have trouble distancing himself from the GOP.

Because one of his opponents is a Mormon, another is a fundamentalist from Arkansas and Rudy apparently has no idea how to run a national campaign.

I think Obama does well against McCain, McCain is a hold your nose while you vote candidate for Republicans while Obama has a lot of people excited about voting for him. Although it probably comes down to the same 8 or so states it did last time and McCain probably does better in those states.

McCain is a moderate and moderates get swing votes and swing votes win national elections. I'm not voting for McCain, though. The man will do way too much harm to the conservative movement. Better to have a liberal president for four years in order to pave way for a true conservative that can show the voters what conservatism is all about. In the four-year microcosm, yes, McCain would be better than any liberal running for office right now, but I'm looking at a bigger picture.

Rofl. There you have it in plain english.

Obama will not get elected because has too little experience. Not to mention he is black; America will panic at the serious notion of having a black president. However, I think as far as being black goes he has excellent prospects.

Now don't go attacking me for the above. I'm putting thoughts and ideas on the plate for discussion.

I agree with the first part of this statement as well, but I don't understand what you mean by the latter.
