Software You Use on your Cell Phone

Ok, Dal and I will probably be making the switch to thost AT&T Tilts from the other thread. Right now, the store is out of stock. Apparently the phone is really popular.

So what kind of software do you all like to download and run on your phones like these?

I imagine I'll want to try Opera, or Mini Opera, or whatever.

I'll definitely need a mobile version of putty to be able to get onto Threshold and on our servers.

Is there a good site(s) with software, ratings, etc?

Aside from Google (where I often search for mobile apps), here are a few useful sites:

http://www.xda-developers.com (Tweaks, Unofficial ROMs, Hack-type stuff)
    http://www.pocketgear.com (Ratings/Reviews)
    http://www.spbsoftwarehouse.com (Software Vendor)
    http://www.dinarsoft.com (Software Vendor)

I haven't kept all that many of the apps I've tried out, but here are a few of my favorites:

Google Maps: Free, small, and so useful. I can't think of an excuse not to have it.

Spb Software House puts out some really nice products. They're a bit pricey as mobile apps go, but package deals soften the blow.

    - Spb Diary: A really nice improvement over the standard PIM functionality of Windows Mobile. The plug-in for the Today screen is also pretty damn useful, I've gotten addicted to it.

    - Spb Pocket Plus: More useful/nifty today plug-ins, along with miscellaneous shell enhancements.

PocketPuTTY/PockeTTY: PocketPuTTY is free, and will get you a decent telnet/SSH client. PockeTTY is $20 shareware, but worked for me in ways that PocketPuTTY did not. I can't recall my main reason for ditching PocketPuTTY, but it may have been a lack of support for the CTRL-sequences I use to navigate Linux 'screen' sessions. Try them both free, and see what works for you.

MemMaid: DinarSoft's product lets you get in and clean up/screw with the memory on your device. I wouldn't call it essential, but it can be useful.

Are these all Windows Mobile OS apps? That's mainly what I am looking at now that we decided to go with AT&T.

I think the phone we are looking at uses Windows Mobile 6.

Yeah, I should have noted that. I run Windows Mobile 6, and all the apps I listed are installed on my phone currently.

Edit: I forgot to include Handango in my original site list. I used to go there for software on my old Palm devices, and I've popped over there for Windows Mobile stuff also. They have Quake Mobile :P.

Do you guys generally download the programs to your PC, and then transfer them via USB to your phone? Or do you download it directly to your phone?

Also, what is the best mobile browser available? Is it Mini Opera or something like that? Or is there a firefox version for mobiles?

I wanna love you but I better not touch
I wanna hold you but my senses tell me to stop
I wanna kiss you but I want it too much
I wanna taste you but your lips are venomous poison
