Recently Unearthed E-Mail Reveals What Life Was Like In 1995

According to Caspari, the find indicates that people from that era spoke a much earlier form of e-mail language alien to our own, employing the full spellings of most words, and lacking the versatility and advanced expression of smiley-face or frowny-face emoticons.
Capitalization is the difference between "I had to help my Uncle Jack off a horse." and "I had to help my uncle jack off a horse."

That really cracks me up! I see one of the email accounts is for Prodigy. I had an account through them and Aol! I remember in those days I was paying like $120 a month for internet service. It was when AOL was charging for their service by the minute! I got hooked on this space game mud and for me to "level" you had to spend hours checking your factories that you had. Needless to say, I made AOL rich at the time.

This discovery is quite fascinating! But perhaps even more fascinating in connection with this set of letters, in which it is clear that there is a reversion to the more ancient language. As an aside, it may be noted that America-centrism is nothing new, in that geographic country codes were unheard of in 1995, and even in the above set of letters, not all the letters incorporate them. However, there are those far better skilled at archaeology than I, and I shall refrain from posting opinions on the subject.

(Don't forget to check the publication date on RFC 1607.)
