The only way the forum could seriously be sued is if it doesn't have any blurb on its home page about "the opinions of its members do not reflect the web master's views" or the like.
Also you have to consider the privacy laws and what not of the country that the forum is hosted in and a lot of other stuff.
In my opinion, the idea of suing a forum site is pretty short sighted. As the whole idea and so forth is expression of ideas and opinions and never things that should be considered cold hard facts.

With the advent of game forums and the likes, I suppose the posting of patch notes and what not has made the previous a bit of a grey area, however.
