I would have to concur with Leira's statements. Although I HAVE had a post deleted/moved, it hasn't been in many years, as since I was banned for about a year from posting several years ago, I just don't post things that I know from that experience will get me in trouble. PLEASE NOTE I DO NOT HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THE NEED TO CENSOR MYSELF TO PROTECT MY ABILITY TO POST HERE. This is, after all, Threshold's forum, not mine. However, the general hostility FROM THE POSTING COMMUNITY to any point of view left of center being posted does discourage me from posting on as many topics as I would like to.

I suppose the main reason I do not come to Kestra's defence, even though all the above is true, is because I would prefer ALL posters were admonished against trolling, and so even though it usually is someone who I am sure is perceived to be on my political "side" who receives corrective measures for trolling, I would feel like a hypocrite defending posts like those that get Kestra in trouble, just because the response seems more motivated by his beliefs than his specific behavior here.

Nonetheless, the way these incidents play out does illustrate what Leira and Malacasta, and now I, have pointed out.

I think you might be misremembering.

I remember a few times you quoted some crazy out there publication (with a name like FREE LABOR UNITED) and got called out for it, but NEVER something like NYT.

Your other points are good ones and are definitely things we should work on as a community to encourage people to share their opinions more freely.
Capitalization is the difference between "I had to help my Uncle Jack off a horse." and "I had to help my uncle jack off a horse."

There is never a good time for lazy writing!
