Yea I have to agree. Discipline is a necessary part of growing up. I really believe some kids need a good slapping around, but with boundaries of course.
The problem with this mentality is there's plenty of psycho parents who are utterly convinced their child needs "slapping around" ...and a lot of times (most times), they don't.

I don't know what would have made a difference for these kids...seems like nothing would've except institution.
