I remember years ago watching a program (think it was either Tomorrow's World, or Top Gear - believe it was the former) that had a car that ran on marine water (salt water). Had a whole new method of driving too, it was almost like a motorbike, you'd twist the steering wheel forwards to go faster (there was no accelerator peddle).
