If you study the media and you understand how stereotypes happen, you can choose not to feed into this sort of thing. Scholars of groups should educate academia rather than promote the types of behavior in rap culture that tend to embarrass black america and groups wanting to bring cultures together rather than separate them.
It's not young america at fault the way I see it. It's the fame driven fanatics that promote the behavior and REWARD it in the media. Trend is established by what gains attention on the world stage, not by a handful of students who act out pop culture. If you become famous by way of your actions, then expect the young people to promote it through emulation.
