I had a long talk with my physicist friend about two months ago about about this, since he was intimately acquainted with the current research.. It's a viable and very easily implemented way to deflect partial sunlight. However everyone seeking this research knows that it is only a *last ditch* partial remedy for a problem that will hopefully not ever happen -- massive ecological damage can occur especially in the plant-world. However, the alternative of NOT having a plan could lead to ecological destruction on a far worse scale.
It's always good to have contingency plans in case prevention fails.
