I bumped into the phrase I entered as the thread's topic multiple times while I was serving with the MA National Guard Recruiting & Retention Command. The linked article is a somewhat uninspired appeal to emotion in support of the reinstitution of the draft, but I believe it highlights a personal favorite topic of mine: mandatory military service. I believe the United States should have it. I feel there is no reason, barring a medical condition or moral failing, that should preclude one from at least serving a few years in some branch of the armed forces. Thoughts?
