Not that I am defending some of the crazy prices doctors charge, but one of the reasons their fees are so high is because of the insane amount they have to pay in insurance premiums. Like if you take the highest malpractice premiums of $195k and then factor in federal and state tax rates, a doctor has to earn 3 or 400 thousand dollars before they even cover the premiums!
