I know you believe you understand what you think I said. But I am not sure you realise that what you heard is not what I meant.

Why do you have to wait? It's a quad-band GSM phone.. you should be able to use it anywhere, providing your own SIM card.
Hell, if it's just a matter of not being for sale, I'm sure a US thresher would buy it for you and gift it through Customs =)

I want one! I checked the tech specs though, I don't think 4 or 8 gb is enough space. I'll probably wait for Gen2 or 3 when they'll get really good.

4 to 8 Gb not enough? Bah, give me a lump of black bakerlite and somewhere to stick my finger. You young-uns have it far too good.

I always wonder how long and how reliable the battery is in these things. If the battery is like the ones in the video iPods, then I'd pass.

The website lists the tech specs at 5 hours for video/phone/browsing and 16 hours audio playback. Interesting that it doesn't mention anything about Standby time.

    GSM Arena - iPhone review

    iPhone Spec sheet

From an industry perspective working in mobile sales -

We've discussed this at length around the stores and come up with a few things we'd like to know -

After sales support and accesories - is it going to suck as hard as iPod aftersales support does, and is it going to be legit Apple accesories or risk voiding your warranty?

Touchscreens - these can either be brilliant (iMate, o2) or completely over sensitive failures (LG Chocolate, LG Shine)

Only a 2mp camera? *yawn* 3.2 is becoming industry standard

4gb/8gb - the SonyEricsson phone that came as a 4gb internal memory as standard was as slow as anything. Even putting a 2gb card in a high end performance phone will *noticably* slow it down. Will the next type processer be able to cope with such high demand features without noticable speed issues?

It's not 3G/HSDPA!!! What were they thinking? Arg! How can you give a phone specs like that and leave it as 2g! I mean, a screen that large and being able to support maps, and its only dial up rated speed! Quad band gets a HUGE nod though.

Bluetooth and WiFi... can I carry a spare battery in my back pocket? If the battery is anything like an iPod...

Maybe I'm just skeptical because I've seen all the fads come and go in a blink of the eye, like Foxtel Mobile, the biggest flop in recent history. This could turn out to be exceptionally awesome, which I honestly hope it does. I mean, with a little tweeking, and a few upgrade this could be the handheld answer to complete mobile entertainment. I personally can't wait until they are released in Australia, they have the possibility to be the next big thing.
