This seems to be an attempt to say well if the Holocaust did not happen the UN should not have made an israel state.
But though a turning point to it actually happening the wheels for this started well before in 1917 with Balfour Declaration of 1917
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Balfour...ration_of_1917

and much immigration happened to the area between the world wars anyway.

"In the years following World War I, Palestine became a British Mandate and Jewish immigration steadily increased, as did violence between Palestine's Jewish and Arab communities. Mounting British efforts to restrict this immigration were countered by international support for Jewish national aspirations following the near-extermination of European Jewry by the Nazis during World War II. "

I don't think even if all the soldiers that saw the camps and what happened didn't.
The events in 1940's was just one part of the events that brought the Israel State to be.

Iran doesn't recognize the state of Israel anyway, and Ahmadinejad has gone on record several times as saying the Holocaust is a Zionist myth - what's the point of having an inherently-biased conference?

Kestra you're comparing apples and oranges here. Religion and genocide are not similar things. Try to formulate a better argument.

It's an observation, not an arguement.
I know you believe you understand what you think I said. But I am not sure you realise that what you heard is not what I meant.

The observation is still incorrect by virtue of the actual facts. It's been identified already. Let's stop belaboring the point.

The subject of the thread, though it was a sarcastic one-liner, has more to do with the idea that the state-level revision of world history (by an Islamic government) is permissible.

I think we should look at the crusades. I mean, did they really happen?

It is more likely that Arab Muslim radicals are just so evil and thirsty to kill poor jews, christians and americans that they simply made up "The Crusades" as a reason to hate. A ridiculous lie invented to hurt "us".. ...

I wonder how the Muslim world would respond to a "western" nation attempting to create THIS historical revision....

The double standard in society/media/politics towards muslims is getting very ridiculous. I think it bothers me most because of the way they "won" that bias and oversensitivity.

They made the world AFRAID of them through TERROR and violent attacks that TARGET innocent life. . .

Call me a arrogant, pig-headed, war-hungry, hypocritical American but, FUCK THAT SHIT. You do NOT dictate world wide affairs via TERROR and MURDER.

Maybe we should be nicer to serial killers? At least they likely have some ACTUAL mental problem to explain why they kill people. Maybe we should let NAMBLA exist freely? I mean, sure what they do is utterly and completely WRONG AND EVIL... but what if they decide killing us non-pedophiles is the way to pedophile heaven? THEN WHAT DO WE DO?!?!?

(Yes these are pointedly ridiculous examples)
If you're robbing a bank and your pants fall down, I think it's okay to laugh
and to let the hostages laugh too, because, come on, life is funny.
