I need to turn a WMV file I have into a DVD. One that you can pop in an old DVD player and get a movie on the screen. Anyone done this before and know a good way to do it without having to buy any software?

Use VSO divx2dvd
read it here: http://www.videohelp.com/tools?tool=vso_DivXtoDVD
download the older free version here: http://freedownload.softonic.de/wind...up_0.52.99.exe

I keep getting a nasty access violation with this program. I downloaded its counterpart, too, and I can't get it to work.
Check this one out:
http://www.videohelp.com/tools?tool=Video_DVD_Maker
I've never used it, but the site lists it as being able to convert/burn .wmv to DVD, and is freeware.
Here is a list of other programs, some have trials:
http://www.videohelp.com/tools?s=35#35
Tried it. Burn process ran, I came back, it apparently was finished, but the DVD-R was blank. Everything that's free doesn't work and everything that works is not free. All the trial versions put a watermark on the DVDs, too. It's infinitely annoying.
FINE! try this, it is the version I am using right this minute so it should work
