I'd think would be based on the number of threshers that are signed up; the non-threshers would only be competing for bragging rights. We'd just take the number of registrations and split the prizes accordingly. Of course, the non-threshers are welcome to make characters and register ... /shameless recruit

I'm not really sure, though, I've never commissioned (or played) in a league with prizes.

Also, if I didn't get your team name right (or it's got a ???), please PM me or post here so that I can update the list. I have a few (below) already:

    OilersRule - Jozep
    Frosty Aquamonkeys - Talsek
    The Newbs - Daryonn
    Purple Monkeys - ???
    Bladerunners - Pyryth
    Burned Toast - Vidare
    Headthrashers - Azoryn
    Drink Bud Ice - Leshrak

Azoryn, take a look at the FF prize thread to get an idea of how a league with prizes tends to work.
Capitalization is the difference between "I had to help my Uncle Jack off a horse." and "I had to help my uncle jack off a horse."

I think he was referring to my earlier post about getting non-threshers to join in the league, and how prizes would be handled if they won...
I mentioned that because last year, we only had 8 people (only 4 of which stayed active until the end). Hopefully this poll will turn out to be true and we can get more than that playing this year =D

    Hi OilersRule is my team

I'm up for either prizes or no prizes. I'd prefer prizes, though. Bragging rights are all well and good, but I want your money, too!

    Cheers

As I look at the poll for a registration league vs. no-registration, and the replies people have posted in this forum, I've noticed that we have at least 8 already registered Threshers that have said they will play with a reg fee. And if the poll is correct, there should be a total of 15 people willing to play, 8 dont care if there's a reg fee, another 7 that would play ONLY if there was a reg fee. So I don't see why we couldn't scrape together at least 10 people to play in a much more competitive fee-based league.

It would be a great improvement over last year when four out of eight of us dropped from sight halfway through the season. With a reg fee and properly set up prize structure, there would be a reason to keep playing even if you weren't going to place 1st, 2nd, or even 3rd. Face it, playing in a league where half the teams quit halfway through makes it easier for the remaining four, but it takes some of the fun out of playing.

I say we find out what amount would be appropriate for everyone involved and keep it limited to registered Threshers.

    My vote is for $20.

I've thought about getting us set up with a registration fee and some prizes, but I've been really busy at work the last few days. I don't think $20 is too much to ask; we've already got 8 people signed up and the potential for 6 or 7 more.

My vote is in for $20. More people in the league is more fun for everyone involved. I'll post the prize ideas in another thread.

    I'm fine with a $20 buy-in.

I've also got a non-Threshing friend who's interested in playing, but obviously cannot if the league is registered Threshers only. I'm not sure about how many other people are in a similar position, or what value there is in having a beefed up league versus having one comprised solely of paying players. Either way is cool with me.

    Prizes!

Okay! Prizes are in, please check the Fantasy Hockey prize thread to see the structure, as always, the more the merrier!

    The registration fee is $20.

Please have all registrations in to Aristotle by September 22, 2006

As soon as we get everyone signed up and registered, we can set the draft date. As it is now, I've set it for Sept. 30, but that can be changed as soon as everyone's registered (Right now the maximum amount of players in Yahoo! is 14, but that can be expanded or lowered if need be). Here are the teams so far:

    Code:
Team Name ----- Player Name ----- Registered?
    -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
    OilersRule -Jozep -Yes
    Frosty Aquamonkeys-Talsek -Yes
    The Newbs -Daryonn -No
    Purple Monkeys -??? -No
    Bladerunners -Pyryth -No
    Burned Toast -Vidare -No
    Headthrashers -Azoryn -Yes
    Drink Bud Ice -Leshrak -Yes

    Posers!

They know they would be so embarrassed by everyone elses superior managing skills that what little they already possess of testicles would shrink into raisin-sized squirrel food. In the case of any women that may have voted- they just know better than to try playing with the big boys.
