Actually, a couple years ago(ending in 2002, i believe) these bikes were the fastest production bikes in the world, with a top speed out of the factory of around 230 mph. The news stories weren't entirely accurate about the bike itself. They also weigh about 600 lbs total, not 900, which is what gives them such a great amount of speed. They began putting governors on them for capping the speed around 200 mph, and you can actually put turbos on them...
