That is a lame ass rule and the wrong solution.

The proper way to deal with such things is:

Some states, including Iowa, continuously run the game clock in the second half if a team has a 35-point lead.
But no, Conn. couldn't do something logical like that, because:

The Connecticut committee rejected a similar proposal because members thought it would unfairly cut into backups' playing time.
Tough shit. Train harder and earn playing time.
