    copy-on-highlite for windows?

I'm very used to working with Solaris and Red Hat as my desktop and one of the features of those operating systems is that they have 2 clipboards. One is used when you highlite and copy. One is used simply by highliting. When something is highlited you can click the middle mouse button and that test will be pasted to a new location.

Is there any tools that can be downloaded for windwos to add this functionality?

    Thanks,
    Sebboe

that's a function of X not of the particular flavours of *NIX that you enjoy.

This is unfortunately not present in the global windows environment. You would probably need a driver that works along the mouse, or the mouse driver would probably need to handle that- well, ideally a layer in the Windows system would be better, but since it's not there, the second best thing would be a driver.

I've never seen what you're looking for. Sorry.

This is true but I wanted to keep things at a generic level for the sake of discussion.

I agree that would have to be something integrated into the environment. It's the difference between a Mac extention, which adds functionality to the OS and a Windows extention which is merely three characters and is used to associate files with applications that can use their contents.

    Very sad.
