Silly article.
First off, single player quasi sexual games are all incredibly bad. Playboy: The Mansion is one of the worst games of all times, and so is Leisure Suit Larry: Magna Cum Laude. Not to mention other games with AO rating.
Now when they saw the single player failure of such titles ( I can honestly think of only a few REAL titles ment for adults...the ancient Lula and a german 'sex hospital' style game), they decided to try developing some multiplayer games, which no doubtetly will suck even more. So, I don't see what's really so shocking to the article, mostly It's just a bunch of bullshit, like 'violence in games' style article.
Sex is present in mmogs from like forever. And creating games with sole purpose of fucking will only bring certain types of people. People who probably also enjoy Larry: Magne Cum Laude and obscene phone calls. More power to them.
I laughed when they forced AO rating on GTA: SA. The sex scenes in it are so incredibly stupid, it's crazy anyone could get offended by it.
No leap in technology has ever resulted in an environment where a person's imagination has been outdone by computer graphics no matter how good, and to think that will change anytime in the present... Nah.
This is no different from having private chat rooms where people can indulge their fantasies with other people. It carries all the same risks of underage people being targetting by perverts, etc, etc. Adding graphics makes this a networked game of Leisure Suit Larry.
While people will get pu on their soap boxes and cry 'Evil' about this type of thing, this type of direction, I think if it was to take off it would be a good thing. Think how easy it would be to police/moderate/etc these instead of the millions of chatgroups/channels out there.
This won't change anything though. Nobody is really going to get excited over a bunch of pixels moving through pre-programmed sexual moves no matter how vast a repetoire is provided.
That is EXACTLY the thought that went through my head.Originally posted by Kraxe
