The "Star Wars Kid" and his mom's lawsuit

Wow. This lawsuit is still going. Go-go Canadian legal system!

High school was time of torment

Now 21, Knight is wiry and stands more than six feet tall. He has a steady girlfriend and loves fixing up old cars. He's wearing jeans and a pin from Canada's air force - where he's an officer cadet - affixed to his blazer lapel at Monday's conference.

But at times, Knight still feels like the 5-foot-4, 120-pound teen who was shoved, punched and robbed by bullies for years at his school near Burlington, Ont.

"I used to fit really well into garbage cans," he recalled.
Sorry dude. You did the stupid thing, you filmed it using someone else's equipment, and it got out. Tough shit.

Maybe you guys don't have that soft spot in you, but I've always found the video endearing even if I laugh each time I see it! I bet that guy gets more ass these days just because of the exposure and notoriety from the whole ordeal. Bless his heart!!!!!

Two different guys. Ghyslain Raza is the star wars kid, whose lawsuit is still going on as well, but the main dude in this (David Knight) is suing the school board for not doing enough to stop him from being bullied.

Because good god, the star wars kid is NOT 120 lbs in that video :P

I've seen the video and it is hilarious... Maybe he's just trying to get money. Or he's a big baby, probably both.

However I do feel for that kid getting tormented by bullies. I took a lot of crap in middle school, got sucker punched one time in the stomach, lot of ridicule and jokes, getting shoved for no reason, etc. Lucky for me we had moved to a much better neighborhood (and school system) by the time I got into highschool. No kid should have to go to school and worry about someone else's dysfunctional kid hassling them.

One of my navy friends from texas (midland) used to get beat up by mexicans a lot, real bad shit. They'd chase him home after school (of course, never one or two). He'd told me one time how they were sitting in an auditorium and someone punched him in the back of the head. He just got up and moved to another seat. He regrets not fighting back, but school shouldn't be like that.

Of course I think the public schools are shit and in some ways the birthplace of a lot of scum. Kids need to be learning their behavior from mature adults, not other immature kids. I also support uniforms for students- snatch that ri..ghtous attitude out of'em.
Stranger, observe our laws! We have both swords and shovels and we doubt that anyone would miss you.

The funniest part about that video (the SWKid one) is kinda how it fully came into being. Apparently someone posted it all over the place saying it was a kid acting like Darth Maul, and one of the employees at Raven (the company who made Jedi Knight II: Outcast and Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy) saw it and was like, "No way, this could be so much cooler." and he apparently took it and cleaned it up and add hardcore official Lucas-quality lightsaber sound effects to it, and added the lighting effects too. I think it was one of their April Fools gags several years ago. But I've always thought it was kind of funny that someone thought it was funny enough to add all that crap in a professional manner. oh well.

If a school can't even ensure its pupils' physical safety while they are on campus, it deserves to get sued. After all, home schooling or moving away aside, the kid has no choice but to be there, so ignoring his basic need for safety seems inexcusable. In fact, this is a perfect example of how frivolous lawsuits (the starwars kid) make it harder for legitimate ones to gain support (the bullied kid).
