The way the salary cap works in the NFL sucks.

The instant replay system for the NFL sucks. Having to risk time outs is fucking retarded. Get the calls right. Don't make trying to get the calls right part of coaching "strategy."

Also, the continued black-out idiocy is a blight on every commissioner until it gets fixed. It is bad enough that they have a stupid rule that if you live in an NFL city and your home team doesn't sell out the stadium, you can't watch the game on TV. But even worse, if your home team has a game, you don't even get a second game from that league (NFC or AFC) regardless of whether or not your home team sold out. So if you live in DC for example, and the Redskins have a 1pm game, it doesn't matter that every Skins game for the next 20 years is sold out. You don't get a 4pm NFC game. That's just stupid as hell.
