What a year for the Great.
The team he's coaching, the Coyotes, have been mediocre this season at best.
His mother dies.
Suddenly, his wife starts getting accused of being involved in a gambling ring. Gretzky claims he has no knowledge of anything.
The cops turn around and claim they have wiretappings of Gretzky discussing on the phone the very thing he denied knowledge of.

What's everyone think of this story?
I've heard some calling for the immediate removal of Gretzky, but that seems a bit extreme to me. With the exception of him lying, there's no evidence that he had anything to do with the gambling. His wife, while placing bets, has done nothing legally wrong and will more then likely not be charged with anything.
None of these bets were on NHL games, which the league forbids players to make.
So, as far as I see it, let the league carry on as normal, and let the cops handle the rest.
Thoughts?
