That makes no difference. One minute he's playing basketball, the next minute his WIFE is getting into a fight in the stands, he has no idea who started it or why, his main concern is protecting her, period. Instinct kicks in, hence, his entering the stands.

There is no doubt in my mind that you, or anyone else in his position(including every single other player and/or referee on the court) would have acted the exact same way.
