Ari beat me to pointing out the problem with relying on strength of schedule. To emphasize the point, six games out of 16 are in your division. If you crush your division opponents you're handing three teams two losses and taking two wins. Not only are you hurting your strength of schedule by winning, but it is even more pronounced if you beat the same teams twice.
I'll agree that the Patriots are on a roll and they are definitely better than their record, but I wouldn't call them the team to beat. Clearly the Colts are the team to beat this year. They have been consistantly good, and they have a week off to get healthy and get ready for a home game. This will be the year they finally get it done.
