Personally, I do not think Farve is done, not by a long shot. The issues this year would tank the stats of any QB, especially one that opponents have 240 games of film to study.....
You have a hurting O-line to begin the season. No problem, I still have my guys at the skill positions... then your #1 WR goes down hard. Okay, no biggie, we run till they have to zone us up and then hit some deep balls off play action.... then your RBs have some injuries, and another WR.. .
Its ridiculous to attribute poor number in the stats columns and the W/L columns to the QB alone. Farve is still Farve. The debate only exists because he IS the face of the Franchise. Do word association with any living male Green Bay : Brett Farve...
Being the Pillar of an NFL team means that the out-fucking-standing supporting cast of the Farve-era Packers was largely overlooked, and under appreciated by fans and critics.
The o-line, the receivers, the running game that made Brett Farve, the man, into Brett Farve- THE MAN are gone or hurt or sucking donkey dick this season. There is a huge difference between being over the hill, and starting up from the bottom of a new hill.
I would guess that the packer organiztion is going to be looking to do a few things in the next two seaons. First and foremost, rebuild the Oline. They should draft an OT or a new RB first round. Green is an average back without an all pro line. You don't have the protection to let him slip out in to the flat or under the dropping backers where he shines. Get an OT and a guard early in the draft, Get some fucking DBs that don't get 5 penalties per game, and get a stud DE.....
Rebuilding with, imho, the best QB of all time is a BLESSING. You have all the experience, leadership, respect in the huddle and on the practice field you could EVER want while rebuilding. I think with Farve, GB rebuilds a team that can contend for a playoff run in 2 years. Without Farve at the helm, 6 at best.
