Yeah, that was some interesting statistical analysis. I would like to see some more of this in football. Not as much as baseball (which is asinine) but at least a bit more.

One stat I would like to see analyzed is figuring out how many points it is worth to punt and pin your opponent inside the 10. I'd like to see what the average number of points your team scores on their NEXT possession is (and count it as 0 if the team pinned actually scores either a TD or a FG).

My guess is that on average, pinning your opponent inside the 10 is worth at least 2-3 points. Pinning your opponent inside the 5 is probably worth something like 3-4 pts.

I'd really like to see it broken down all the way so you can see the points for every yard you pinned them on.
