The definition of clueless and selfish:

UK’s Brooks says he won’t quit, despite fan discontent

Rich Brooks said today that he won’t resign as the University of Kentucky head football coach despite rampant speculation about his future.

Brooks is 7-21 since taking over for Guy Morriss in 2003
Guy Morriss had 7 wins in his final season. Brooks has 7 wins so far in 3 seasons.

But Brooks, who has two years remaining on a contract that pays him $750,000 annually, said if he’s not UK’s coach next season, it won’t be because he resigned.

“That ain’t happening, guys,” Brooks said. “I’m not going to walk out on the players that I recruited and this program that I’m trying to turn around.”
Translation: I won't resign, because then I can't force you to pay me for not working. When you fire me, you'll have to pay me to sit home and watch tv.

It is sad that he uses such a piss poor excuse. I imagine the players wouldn't feel rejected if Brooks "walked out" on them. I bet they wouldn't mind having a snowball's chance in hell at winning.

UK's only win this season is over a Division I-AA school that they trailed at half time and needed a 99 yard kick off return to pull ahead of.
