Does anyone know of a decent product (preferably open source) for sending out newsletters, maintaining subscription lists and handling email verification for sign up?

I have something similar already, but I'm looking for something with a few more features towards newsletters. For example, being able to sign up for either a plain text or html newsletter, etc, etc.
