So 13 games back into the swing of things, so to speak, and Barry Bonds is picking up right where he left off before his surgeries. In those 13 games, Bonds has 5 home runs and 10 RBI. That's 1 HR and 2 RBI every 8 at bats. Now, I'm not a big baseball guy, but that seems to break down pretty damn well. Not bad for a guy who didn't start playing until September.

I think Bonds has been a horrible whiner throughout this whole surgery ordeal where he hasn't been playing, though I can see how badly the media rides him and I can understand it getting on his nerves, but oh well, deal with it, you're a pro athlete and this is how it goes. All his whining aside, I love that he's come back and is slamming it out of the park and producing. Sure, he's just doing his job, but I think the fact that so many people wanted him to flop, then he comes out and starts playing like this, makes me root for him even more. It's a big middle finger to everyone who prayed he would choke, and I'm totally cool with it.
