    The Choking Game

I don't know if any of you have heard of this, especially parents, but this is more disturbing than the cutting thing we discussed months ago. Apparently, there is a game being played among pre-teens where they choke each other and make each other pass out. One teen was quoted as saying, "I love doing that pass out thing. You wake up and you forget what happened. It comes back though you're all tingly." What caught everyone's attention is the kids trying to play the game alone and hanging themselves.

This is scary shit. Here's the link to 20/20 where I found it.

We've actually got a thread for this already. Unfortunately, however, it starts of with some -extremely- depressing news.

I see. I missed that somehow. Well, the subject has come up again in the hews and some others may have missed it the first time like I did. The difference is that it doesn't have an erotic purpose, but that it's a fucking GAME to the kids! I'd heard of AEA before and as scary as that is, treating it like a game is even worse, like passing out is fun. Not sure what else to say, or even if there is anything left to say. But this bothers me to no end.

I’ve been reflecting on my brother’s death a lot over the past month, and this has given me another opportunity to do so.

I suspect that his experimentation with AeA probably started out as this game. They are not exactly the same thing, but they are close enough to be discussed together.

Most kids don’t have an understanding of mortality and don’t realize the consequences of their actions. Being a parent isn’t every easy.
"Believe it or not, I'm a complete catch."
