    Keyboard Issues

I am visiting my grandpa right now and his keyboard is messed up and I was wondering if anyone could help me fix it for him. Or maybe he just needs to get a new one.

Anyway, the problem is that you cannot type any of the keys twice in a row without waiting a good second in between. Like the double E's in between. Or if you mess up and have to backspace, that just takes forever. Otherwise, it still works great, it just slows typing down a ton.

Let me know if this is fixable or if he should get a new one.

There may be a setting somewhere that can fix that, but I can't think of it off the top of my head. Most of my keyboards that have had 'speed' settings had function keys (near the Windows Start key) and arrows on the f-keys similar to > and >> and >>>. Hit those at the same time and it may speed up the keyboard function.

The easiest way is to go buy a new keyboard. They're not very expensive nowadays. He may have spilled something on the keyboard and has a short in it. Something with a function similar to described above may be needed, and they don't cost any more than normal keyboards. Should be around $15-30 - any more than that and you may be getting functionality you don't need/want.

Go to your control panel, and click on the keyboard icon. Under the speed tab, play with the character repeat settings, and see if that's the problem first.

After adjusting the settings in the control panel, if it still works poorly, get a new one.

    Keyboards are super cheap.
Capitalization is the difference between "I had to help my Uncle Jack off a horse." and "I had to help my uncle jack off a horse."
