Rank 'Em: NBA's Greatest Teams (1980-2005)
9 mini dynasties in just a 20 year span?!?!?!You can now rank the San Antonio Spurs among the greatest teams of the NBA's modern era.
Their win tonight means that since Magic Johnson and Larry Bird debuted in the 1979-80 season, there have been nine "mini-dynasties."
That is, nine franchises that have won either two or three titles in a three-year span.
That is ridiculous.
There have been 2 dynasties in the last 20 years.
The Bulls and the Lakers.
Sorry, winning 2 titles in 3 years is not a dynasty. That's a very good team, but not a dynasty.
