No kidding. This is the kind of crap that actually gets me mad at pro sports in general.

This was a chance to get one of the greatest players of all time back to the team he is best known for.

Jerry Rice played with Joe Montana and Steve Young. As you note, they are two of the best QBs of all time (Montana being the BEST QB of all time, but that is another matter).

Rice is definitely the best receiver of all time.

The guy is so good he's been able to stay pro for 20+ years.

That is the kind of experience you should be DESPERATE to get for your #1 draft pick QB.

San Fran NEEDS receiver help. And paying the league minimum for someone who delivered 30 catches, 429 yards, and 3 TDs not even playing a full 16 games is a freakin' bargain.
